Why do you call SACRED SEASON ornaments "art globes"?
SACRED SEASON isn't "only" for Christmas! Since every SACRED SEASON design comes with a display stand, most of our customers actually display their SACRED SEASON collection year-round. Plus, the colorful artwork and inspirational messages are perfect for every occasion, all year round - so, we call SACRED SEASON "art globes" because they are "works of art" to be enjoyed every month of the year.

Why does every SACRED SEASON piece have a hole at the top?
This hole is the "blow hole" - where the glassblower literally blows air into a tube of glass that is held over a blue-hot flame until the glass is soft enough to be "blown" into shape. This is a mark of distinction and denotes the work of a skilled glassblower.

What is SACRED SEASON made of?
Every piece is made of individually mouth-blown glass.

Yes - but the great thing about SACRED SEASON is that they are made of a better-caliber glass, which resists breaking. (They are much stronger than the "typical ornament" of "tissue-thin" glass that nearly "explodes" into "dust" when it breaks).

Is SACRED SEASON really made entirely by hand?
Yes - every piece is individually and entirely handmade, from start to finish.

How long does it take to make one SACRED SEASON piece?
It requires approximately 1 week to make one design - from blowing the glass to the final "drying time" after the last coat of lacquer is applied.

How do you come up with each SACRED SEASON design?
It's mysterious to me - but ideas will "pop into my head" at the oddest times - even sometimes in dreams while I sleep - and depending on the complexity, I can do some artwork myself. If designs are more complicated or "painterly", I do a rough sketch or write a detailed "text description" of the design I have in mind and work with artists to get the final rendition ready.

Why is there a glass hook at the top of every SACRED SEASON piece?
This glass hook is formed by the glass blower, as he "finishes" each piece. When the glass tube has been blown to the desired dimension & shape, the glass artisan then "pulls & twists" the end of the glass into a hook, before cutting off the "excess" molten glass. This is called an "annealed glass hook", meaning that the entire piece is one single seamless piece of glass. This feature is prized among ornament collectors, as it is a "perfect finishing touch" to a fine handmade ornament.

What does it mean to say every SACRED SEASON piece is "hallmarked"?
" Hallmark" is a term that is applied to fine silver and other fine goods - it's a "signature" showing the creator/artist responsible for the workmanship on a particular piece.
So, I decided that every single SACRED SEASON design should be "hallmarked" with the SACRED SEASON name - to show our pride in workmanship, but also to assure our customers that you have purchased a genuine, authentic SACRED SEASON design.

Why is "SACRED SEASON" written on the bottom of every piece?
We're proud of our designs and workmanship - and in a world full of "knock-offs" - we want our customers to be assured of the authenticity of every piece.

Can my SACRED SEASON piece be personalized?
Yes. In fact, when I travel to stores and do "signings" - I use a "gel pen" to write messages and sign SACRED SEASON purchases. Just look for either a fine point gold or silver metallic ink gel pen (although it is possible to use an "ultra thin" permanent black marker, too).

Why does every SACRED SEASON design have a date on the bottom?
This date refers only to the copyright date of the design .

Does this mean SACRED SEASON designs are "dated"?
No. So far, we have not produced any "dated" ornaments, and have no plans to do so. This is a specific term that refers to ornaments that are produced only over the course of a particular calendar year. No SACRED SEASON designs are "dated".
